HOUR HISTORY

From the Start

Seboka Training and support network was Established in 2002 as a Non-profit Organisation with the objective to strengthen community response to HIV and AIDS and related problems such as poverty, unemployment, and skills development.

The strategic objectives of Seboka entails promoting and strengthening civil society in psycho-social and economic development to encourage communities to be actively involved in managing their own empowerment.

Furthermore, the organization’s focus in the past 20 (Twenty) years has been on community social mobilization, community development and participation.

Currently, the Organisation has footprints in 5 Provinces namely Gauteng,North-west, Free State, Mpumalanga, and Eastern Cape. The National department of Health hasbeen a long-standing partner of Seboka. The programmes that were funded in this partnership were provided in the different municipalities within following Provinces: Gauteng. Northwest, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, and Free State since 2003 to current.

THE STEPS

Our PROGRAMMES

CWP

Seboka has been implementing the CWP project since April 2014. The project focuses on providing unemployed people of working age with a job safety net meant to bridge the employment gap for those who are actively looking for employment.

IDT

IDT allocated funding in 2019 to commence Agrarian Revolution Project in the Free State, with the purpose to start agricultural projects as well as other projects that fall within the scope of “useful work” in CWP.

Agrarian

Seboka received funding from DCoGTA to start livestock farming and vegetable project at Makholokoe. The purpose of the programme is intended to assist local farmers and community members acquire livestock.

CMP

Seboka entered into agreements with funders listed below to provide mentorship programmes, as well as Social Mobilisation programmes to Community-Based Organisation (CBOs) in the North-west, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Eastern Cape Provinces.
